We're looking for a highly intelligent, creative web developer who wants to be a part of a strong team at a world-changing media startup in Los Angeles. Our ideal developer knows HTML, CSS, and JS just as well as PHP and MySQL and is able to use them efficiently. You know practical uses for HTML5 and can argue why the world should move to PHP 5.3. Our ideal developer will be just as proficient in working with existing code, as well as writing brand spanking new code. You want to work with people just as smart as you in a small environment where stuff gets done rather than deal with pointless meetings keeping you from releasing your beautiful code into the wild.
What You Need to Know:
- A minimum of 2 years related work experience
- Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, JS, PHP and MySQL
- Experience with object-oriented JS frameworks, such as JQuery
- Experience with JSON, SOAP, REST
- Strong understanding of user behavior and can translate that into user interfaces
- Experience with working with APIs
- Working knowledge of Git
- Writes well-abstracted, scalable and reusable code
- Ability to test and debug your code and code of others, with an eye on performance
- Ability to work in high-traffic environments and multi-server websites
- Can read, understand and modify code written by others.
How You Work:
- Must work well in a collaborative environment as well as working well on your own... basically you get stuff done
- Must be detail oriented (pixel-perfect) and able to recognize and solve problems
- Strong communication skills
- Must love to continue learning and keeping up on technology/coding trends.
Earn Some Brownie Points:
- Knowledge of mobile/tablet frameworks
- Familiarity with Python, Java or any flavor of C
- Knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator
- Can recognize good design and UI
- Experience working within load-balanced architectures
- Ability to differentiate skin jobs from other humanoids.
